What to Do in Halibut Cove

IMG_1161.JPG

Halibut Cove, located on Ismailof Island in Kachemak Bay, may seem isolated, but we're just a short boat ride across to Homer on the mainland.  Homer offers a variety of activities for all manners of travelers.  Whether you enjoy hiking in the Alaskan wilderness, or pizza and a glass of wine overlooking the ocean, or shopping for souvenirs to remember your trip by, Homer has something for everyone.

However, you don't have to go over to the mainland to enjoy yourself here.  There are a number of small businesses, art galleries & restaurants located within our 11.5 square miles that are worth exploring.  Get excited for your upcoming trip and take a look at what our small community has to offer.

Arts & Entertainment in Halibut Cove

Halibut Cove is home to a number of artists across a variety of mediums.  The peace and quiet afforded to us in our remote island allows the mind to wander and creative pursuits to be explored. While visiting Halibut Cove, meandering between the different art galleries is a favorite past-time and allows visitors to take in the beautiful artwork created by the locals.  Some of their art is even available to purchase and you can take home your own unique souvenir of your Alaskan adventure.  Below are some of the available galleries for you to peruse on your trip to the Cove.
